Three Bears Alaska announced December 1 that it had purchased Alaska Ship Supply, a general store, and Captains Bay, a convenience store, in Dutch Harbor.

Keeping What Customers Want

Alaska Ship Supply and Captains Bay have served the Dutch Harbor/Unalaska and Bering Sea fishing communities since 1986. Alaska Ship Supply President Larry Soriano says it’s time for a change and Three Bears Alaska is the right company to make it.

“We believe Three Bears Alaska is just the right fit to take our family-owned business to a higher level of customer service and satisfaction. Three Bears is a very experienced, successful, and growing retailer in the Interior of Alaska and knows what it takes to run stores in challenging environments,” Soriano says. “They are an Alaska-owned and operated company as well.”

Three Bears Alaska President and CEO David Weisz says his team will continue to offer Alaska Ship Supply and Captains Bay customers the items they rely on and services they enjoy while bringing in new products, improving customer service, and looking for new ways to serve the community.
