Alaska Railroad Promotes New External Affairs Director

The Alaska Railroad Corporation (ARRC) promoted Meghan Clemens to Director of External Affairs.
Clemens first joined ARRC in 2013 as marketing and communications manager, a role that involved strategic marketing, customer engagement, and media relations for passenger services. In her new position, Clemens oversees ARRC’s direct engagement and effective communication with Railbelt communities, the public, and other stakeholders.
“I am excited for this opportunity and to continue the Railroad’s 100-year history of developing and building our state,” Clemens says. “As a lifelong Alaskan, I am eager to get to meet and hear directly from our stakeholders and communities. Getting to know our customer’s needs is what our reputation of service excellence is based upon.”

Clemens, with an MBA degree from UAA, has been on the forefront of ARRC’s online presence, helping build a user experience that provides unparalleled access and service for all customers. Her knowledge and direct involvement in enhancing both freight and passenger services over the past decade make her a great fit for her new role.

Clemens fills the external affairs position vacated by Christy Terry, a longtime railroad employee and former mayor of Seward, who was promoted to Vice President of Real Estate.
