Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Board Hires New CEO

The Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce named Jeremy Johnson as its new President and CEO, effective December 1, 2022. The selection ends a five-month search facilitated by a seven-member committee led by Jennifer Thompson, the current board chair.

“Jeremy has strong connections in Fairbanks and throughout the state that will allow him to continue to build strong partnerships among the business community,” says Thompson. “He is enthusiastic about leading our Chamber through the challenges and opportunities ahead, and the board looks forward to working with him as he champions the work of the Chamber.”

Johnson was born and raised in Fairbanks and has spent the last sixteen years in public service in various positions, from advising and assisting local governments to conducting elections. He holds a degree in political science from UAF and has received several Governor’s Denali Peak Performance Awards for his service from 2009 to 2015.

“I am excited to join a dedicated group of professionals who have a shared goal of making a positive impact in our community,” says Johnson. “Fairbanks is my home, and it is an honor and a privilege to work with the talented Chamber staff, business and community leaders, and all of the current and future members to advance the business advocacy efforts of the Chamber.”
