Coffman Engineer Earns Professional License

Tija Baker

Tija Baker, at the Anchorage office of Coffman Engineers, earned her Alaska Professional Engineering license in mechanical engineering.

Baker graduated from UAA with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and joined Coffman in 2011. She is also certified as a NACE cathodic protection technician and an America Petroleum Institute 570 piping inspector.

Baker manages facility piping corrosion inspection for oil and gas companies. She has performed corrosion control field engineering support for annual cathodic protection surveys and designed cathodic protection systems for corrosion mitigation projects. She has experience with various oil companies on numerous pipeline projects and has traveled throughout rural Alaska, Washington, and Hawaii.

Land animals attract visitors to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center (AWCC) near Portage, from the elk, deer, muskox, moose, and wood bison to the bears, lynx, and porcupines. Situated at the head of Turnagain Arm as it is, AWCC also looks toward the marine habitat.
