Alaska Healthcare Trade Association Shortens Its Name

Surprise! AHHA is the new trade group for the healthcare industry in Alaska. AHHA stands for the Alaska Hospital and Healthcare Association, until recently known as the Alaska State Hospital and Nursing Home Association, or ASHNHA.

Throw the “S” and “N” Away

According to a statement from the organization, the transition is an effort to adopt a more inclusive, concise, and relevant name to better represent the association’s members and mission.

Established in 1953, AHHA represents more than sixty-five hospitals statewide, as well as nursing facilities, home health agencies, and other healthcare partners. It also represents Alaska in national healthcare networks: the American Hospital Association, the American Health Care Association, and the National Center for Assisted Living.

In this role, AHHA provides policy and advocacy expertise, leads and hosts opportunities for education and training in the field, and brings together members and stakeholders for collaborative work to share data, resources, and best practices.

AHHA retains its current president and CEO, Jared Kosin, as well as its mission, leadership, and services. The name change does come with a new logo, though.
