Two Nortech Engineers Pass Licensing Exam

A pair of environmental engineers at Nortech passed their Principles of Engineering exam to earn their Professional Environmental Engineering license from the State of Alaska.

Haley Michael

Haley Michael graduated from the Northern Arizona University honors program with a degree in environmental engineering and holds an American Petroleum Institute Tank Inspector 653 certification. Michael is experienced with hazardous material assessment and demolition design, tank inspections, contaminated site assessment and remediation design, and spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan writing. Prior to joining Nortech in 2017, Michael published undergraduate research at Northern Arizona University on projects involving GIS mapping mycorrhiza (soil fungi). Last year she completed the National Society of Professional Engineers Emerging Leaders Program and is a project manager at Nortech.

Mikkel Foltmar

Mikkel Foltmar graduated from the Technical University of Denmark with a master’s degree in environmental engineering and holds a sanitary surveyor certificate from the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation. At Nortech, Foltmar is responsible for public water system engineering design and review, sanitary surveys, hazardous material investigations, site assessments, and contingency plan scenario development. Additionally, Foltmar has volunteered with the Prince William Sound Regional Citizen’s Advisory Council on work regarding terminal operations and environmental monitoring since 2014.
