Providence Opens ExpressClinic in Wasilla

Providence Alaska has a new ExpressCare clinic in Wasilla, bringing an urgent care option to the Matanuska-Susitna Valley.

The Wasilla ExpressCare is located at 1861 E. Parks Highway, in the Target shopping center.
“With ExpressCare, Providence is showing our commitment to creating ‘Health for a Better World’ by increasing access to care,” says Preston M. Simmons, chief executive of Providence Alaska. “We are excited to make everyday health and wellness even more convenient for the communities we serve by offering care close to home.”
The storefront is similar to existing ExpressCare facilities in Anchorage at Tikahtnu Commons on Muldoon Road, at the Midtown Mall, at 1389 Huffman Park Drive, and near the North Eagle River exit from the Glenn Highway.

ExpressCare provides same-day visits, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. Appointments can be scheduled online, so patients can find a time that fits their schedule. Providers treat common conditions—cuts and scrapes, sprains and strains, skin conditions, respiratory conditions—as well as offer screenings and tests for common infectious diseases, pregnancy, or cholesterol. The clinic also offers common vaccinations.
ExpressCare also has a virtual option, where patients receive care without leaving their home or office. ExpressCare Virtual provides online appointments with a provider via computer or mobile device with most insurance accepted. Providers can diagnose and treat minor medical concerns, and prescribe medication or lab work, as needed. For mobile use, download the Providence Health Connect app.
If a higher level of care or follow-up is needed, ExpressCare clinicians can help patients navigate to primary care based on patient convenience. If patients are unable to be treated during a visit to an ExpressCare location and must be referred elsewhere, they are not charged for their visit.
