Right Moves with Dawn Crater

The Alaska Oil and Gas Association is pleased to announce Dawn L. Crater as the organization’s new regulatory and legal affairs manager.

Crater comes to AOGA with years of experience working within the resource development regulatory environment. She most recently served as the Director of Appeals & Policy Implementation for the Alaska Department of Natural Resources; as Special Assistant within DNR’s commissioner’s office; and Native Allotment Coordinator for DNR’s Division of Mining, Land & Water.

Crater holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth science from University of California, Berkeley, and obtained her juris doctor degree from Golden Gate University School of Law.

“Dawn brings incredible experience to the job,” says Kara Moriarty, AOGA President/CEO. “Her commitment to following the law will serve our members well as we proceed with our work to ensure responsible development continues in a safe, legal manner that follows science and creates lasting benefits for Alaskans.”

As AOGA’s regulatory and legal affairs manager, Crater will be responsible for evaluating government’s actions and initiatives and coordinating AOGA’s review and response to such initiatives, including preparing written and oral testimony at public hearings; managing litigation issues with outside counsel; and directing AOGA’s legal and environmental committees.
