Right Moves - Guy Runco

Katmai Conservancy, the official nonprofit partner of Katmai National Park and Preserve, has hired Guy Runco as its first Executive Director.

Runco has over a decade of experience in the non-profit sector, with specific experience in education and outreach, wildlife conservation, strategic planning, and fundraising. He has an additional 20 plus years of experience in the creative arts, marketing, sales/merchandising, graphic design, and web development. Most recently, he served as executive director of the Bird Treatment and Learning Center in Anchorage. While at Bird TLC, he provided leadership, oversight, assistance, and coordination on all aspects of the organization’s operations.

He now works in earnest alongside community partners, Park staff, the broader interested public, and the Katmai Conservancy Board to realize the organization’s vision, mission, and goals, which all focus on preserving this unique and sacred place, its wildlife and ecosystems, scenic character, and unparalleled natural and cultural resources.

In addition to honoring these companies, the Corporate 100 special section also looks at the most common occupations in Alaska; how workplaces can accommodate their employees experiencing a range of challenges and disabilities; and how the implementation of AI is changing workplaces. Also in this issue: new leaders in the healthcare industry, a resurgence in physical film, and the merger that created Contango Silver & Gold. Enjoy!
