Travel Juneau is pleased to announce the launch of Juneau Cares, a program designed to align Juneau visitor businesses in reopening Juneau’s visitor economy responsibly.

The health and safety of everyone who lives, works, and visits Juneau is a top priority for Travel Juneau, and keeping each other safe is a shared responsibility. “We recognize the need to grow confidence among locals and guest while fulfilling our mission to market Juneau responsibly to independent travelers and meeting planners,” says Liz Perry, president and CEO of Travel Juneau.

Thus the Juneau Cares program was created. Participating businesses commit to creating, implementing, and maintaining COVID-19-conscious reopening plans.

Further, Travel Juneau was able to assist some of its partners with certification with Global Biorisk Advisory Council, funded through the City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) CARES Act dollars.

Perry notes that the program would not have been possible without CARES Act funding from CBJ. “We’re grateful to the CBJ for supporting this program as part of a larger effort to restart Juneau’s visitor economy.”
