Moda to Offer Individual Health Plans in New Alaska Markets for 2021

Moda will offer more health coverage to more communities throughout Alaska for 2021. In addition to its Moda Health Small and Large Group and Medicare Supplement plans currently offered statewide by Moda Health Plan, Moda Assurance Company will provide Individual health plans in key new markets.

Moda’s Individual plans feature a comprehensive network and a broad range of health services including Fitbit programs and telehealth support to help Alaskans get care wherever they are, whenever they need it.

“With this market expansion of our Individual plans into more areas of the state, Alaskans now have a choice of coverage that provides high-quality benefits designed specifically for them,” says Jason Gootee, VP of Strategic Market Development at Moda.

Individual and Family medical plans are available to Alaskans in the Municipality of Anchorage, Fairbanks North Star, Ketchikan Gateway, Kenai Peninsula, and Mat-Su Boroughs, and Prince of Wales-Hyder Census Area. Members will have access to Moda Health’s Pioneer Network of providers, including:

Central Peninsula Hospital, Soldotna
Alaska Regional Hospital, Anchorage
Mat-Su Regional Medical Center, Palmer
PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center, Ketchikan
South Peninsula Hospital, Homer
Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, Fairbanks

Medicare Supplement plans allow members to access care throughout Alaska and across the country, as long as the provider has not opted out of Medicare.
