Askren Named Commercial Analyst at KeyBank

Jake Askren has been named Commercial Analyst at KeyBank, bringing more than 20 years of experience as a small business banking specialist. In this role, he assists the commercial bank unit in approving loans by analyzing financial statements to determine credit worthiness and engage in consultative conversations with clients to assess needs, identify known and unknown risks, and actively follow up with expert advice and financial solutions to resolve complex financial challenges.

Askren has a lengthy tenure with KeyBank in a variety of positions that include small business relationship manager and business specialist. Most recently he served as branch manager at the Benson branch.

In addition to his work-related roles, Askren has also been active with KeyBank’s programs internally, including serving as the Young Professional Chair for Alaska, one of KeyBank’s affinity groups. In addition, Askren serves on the Associates Council for the Associated General Contractors of Alaska, where he builds relationships with new and existing members, organizes networking events, and works to increase membership for the organization.

Askren attended UAA where he studied criminal justice.
