Office equipment supplier Kelley Connect is expanding its Alaska presence by acquiring Anchorage-based OfficeTECH.
A Better Opportunity
From its original founding in Spenard, OfficeTECH has established branches in Kodiak and western and eastern Washington. Seattle-based Kelley Connect already has sales offices in Anchorage, Soldotna, Fairbanks, Juneau, and Ketchikan, as well as Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and Montana.
“The OfficeTECH philosophy matches ours in an incredibly natural way,” says Kelley Connect CEO Aric Manion. “We’re continuing to build on our commitment and vision to help businesses find strategic advantages for their customers and we are confident all of Alaska is covered.”
The addition of OfficeTECH means both Xerox and Quadient mail solutions are added to the Kelley Connect portfolio of strategic offerings. “The merger now elevates our ability to solve more business challenges,” Manion says. “Simply, it’s now an even better opportunity for everyone’s business.”
Kelley Connect is among the largest privately-owned office technology companies in the Western United States, growing to more than thirty locations since starting in 1974. The company is also the name sponsor of the ice rinks at O’Malley Sports Center in South Anchorage.
OfficeTECH was founded in 1997 in Anchorage with one employee and expanded the following year to cover much of Southcentral Alaska. By 1999, the company was named the top provider of digital multifunctional devices among all Xerox sales agencies. In 2000, OfficeTECH expanded outside of Alaska, servicing Eastern Washington University, Washington State University, Pacific Aerospace, Confluence Health, and Wenatchee Valley College. Customers range from the federal government to solo graphic designers working from home.
Manion adds that OfficeTECH’s expertise in hiring and retaining employees with the knowledge and judgment to make the right recommendations makes the combination a natural fit.
