Congratulations on becoming a supervisor – you must be great at what you do! Chances are, you didn’t get promoted because you knew the law, but alas, it’s the law that just might knock you down. This two-hour class will highlight significant employment legislation with which you need to become familiar. Ideally, you will learn “just enough” to steer clear of any lurking pitfalls.

Learning Objectives:

• Understand the intent of key workplace legislation and how this intent affects supervision
• Understand a supervisor’s responsibilities of representing their organization well and ultimately, minimizing risk
• Effectively navigate a variety of situations should concerns and/or complaints arise
