Energy Literacy, Economics, and Careers (ELECT) Training

This course is designed to provide you with tools to teach about energy in Alaska through interactive curriculum and hands-on activities, and introduce advanced topics in energy, economics, & careers. Please note that this course is for K-12 educators currently teaching in Alaska.

During this course you will receive:

  • One 500-level UA Graduate Credit (may be eligible for lane change & re-certification requirements)
  • Alaska Standards-based curriculum with fun, hands-on activities for K-12 students & access to other free energy education resources
  • Material supply kits sent in advance for use during the course and in your classroom!

This is a virtual training that will be held on Zoom. Alaska Resource Education will send out material kits prior to the start of training, so please provide an accurate shipping address in the registration.

Schedule: Zoom sessions will be February 23 and 25, as well as March 2, and 4 (Tuesday and Thursday) from 5-7 p.m. each day AKST. Self-directed activities and tasks will also be assigned.

Cost: If course is taken for UA credit, you will be charged $79 from the university (information will be provided to you as to how to register for that).
