Events
At Alaska Business, we are aware of many business and community events taking place around the state. So below we're happy to provide our readers with as much information as we can about statewide plays, festivals, fundraisers, workshops, lectures, debates, conferences, conventions, business meetings, and whatever else may pique our interest—or yours.
Because of public efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and following the guidance of national and local leaders, many events are cancelled, postponed, or revamped for online attendance; we are keeping this calendar updated as we are made aware of changes.

As efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 are ongoing, please follow the health and safety advice of local leaders, including wearing face coverings and practicing social distancing; be conscientious and prioritize your safety and the safety of others.

July 20, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 10:30 am

$85

The STRIVE Group

The word is out: “People are 30 percent more effective and productive when in a positive frame of mind.” That’s great, but what about when someone is going through a challenging time? How might that affect their mental and emotional wellness? Furthermore, how does someone continue to engage and be productive at work or play during challenging times?

The STRIVE Group can help!

Broken into easily digestible moments, this 90-minute online session identifies how individuals can maintain strong mental and emotional wellness (retaining one’s sense of sanity) during challenging times. The instructor shares insights into building sustainable resilience. Ideal for anyone navigating through challenging times, this session provides pragmatic and valuable tips and tools for improving adaptability and resilience.

Learning Objectives

-Understand the three primary characteristics of resilient people, and learn how to build and increase those attributes within ourselves
-Recognize the five Care-Bubbles and understand when to prioritize each
-Appreciate the value of and how to accurately conduct a self-check-in
-Learn how to reprioritize when mental blocks or walls occur
-Identify how to find and engage the Reset-Button

This class is conducted live online via video conference with effective, takeaway segments designed for engaging, interactive learning.

In addition to twelve regional corporations, the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) allocated lands and funds to more than 200 village corporations. As with their regional counterparts, the village corporations are mandated to make a profit and use it to benefit their shareholders and villages. It’s no surprise that, among hundreds of corporations, no two have chosen the exact same path to meet that mandate. Below are highlights and updates for a handful of the village and urban corporations.
