Golden Days is Fairbanks’ biggest summer tradition! Join the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce as it celebrates Fairbanks’ rich history and community spirit with a week of connection, celebration, and family fun. From the Grande Parade—reputedly Alaska’s largest parade, with more than 100 entries—and the annual Rubber Duckie Race, in which a flock of 8,000 rubber ducks streams down the Chena River, to “Olde Tyme Games” that include watermelon-eating and pie-eating contests, there is something for everyone in the Golden Heart City. Kicking off with the Poke of Gold contest, in which daily clues lead participants to a hidden-in-plain-sight pouch of gold, the Golden Days celebration honors the Gold Rush history of Fairbanks.
