Melissa Osborn Joins DOWL’s Alaska Aviation Group

DOWL is pleased to announce the addition of Alaska Aviation Manager Melissa Osborn, AAE, ACE, to our Fairbanks, Alaska office. She brings extensive U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) compliance expertise to the firm and will grow DOWL’s Alaska aviation services including TSA and FAA compliance.

Melissa has been in aviation for more than 20 years having previously held positions as an airport operations superintendent at Fairbanks International Airport (FAI), an airport safety and security officer at Northern Region of State of Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, an operations officer at FAI, and a load planner for Alaska Airlines, Lufthansa, and Cargolux. Melissa brings valuable project management experience, having initiated and led a variety of short- and long-term airport planning programs throughout her career.

Melissa is an active member of several professional organizations and is an Accredited Airport Executive. Melissa engages with the aviation community and Fairbanks at large and holds committee assignments with the following organizations: Vice-Chair of American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Operations Safety Planning & Emergency Management Committee, President-elect Golden Heart Rotary Club, Member of Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Transportation Infrastructure Committee, Chair of Northwest Chapter of AAAE’s Diversity Committee, and recently held a position on AAAE’s Board of Examiners.

Melissa is a third-generation Alaskan with multiple degrees from the University of Alaska Fairbanks; she resides in Fairbanks with her husband and children.
