Emily Winfield to Lead Design Alaska’s Mechanical Engineering Department

Design Alaska has promoted Emily Winfield, PE to be the head of their Mechanical Engineering Department. Emily is a graduate of the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to studying engineering she received a Bachelor of Arts from St. Mary’s University in Nova Scotia. She is a Certified Commissioning Authority and served as President of the Fairbanks Chapter of ASHRAE from 2016-2017. She will oversee the department of nine engineers that perform design, cost estimating, commissioning, and construction administration. Her passion in the industry is sustainable and energy efficient design for both rural and urban settings. Emily has been with Design Alaska since 2014.
