Coastal Villages Region Fund Names Rhonda Lamp New Human Resources Director
Coastal Villages Region Fund (CVRF) has appointed Rhonda Lamp as the new Human Resources Director. In this position, Lamp focuses on creating processes that streamline hiring and on developing workplace programs which support the professional growth and well-being of CVRF’s employees.
“Rhonda brings necessary and unique expertise to CVRF that will empower us to continue recruiting top talent and creating programs that can better support our current staff,” says Eric Deakin, CEO of Coastal Villages Region Fund. “As we work to pioneer new programs and partnerships that better support our region, Rhonda’s passion for building relationships and developing employees will be a tremendous asset.”
Originally from Mississippi, Lamp fell in love with living in Alaska when she attended the University of Alaska. She has more than three decades of experience in human resources. Previously, she was the benefits manager of Chugach Government Solutions and the senior human resources manager for Bristol Bay Resource Solutions.
Earlier this year, Lamp started working with CVRF as a contractor.
“I was a contractor with CVRF for four months and had the opportunity to work with the staff while learning more about the organization and its mission,” she says. “When a permanent position became available, I knew I had to apply so I could continue to be a part of the great work CVRF does to support its communities.”
Lamp’s leadership in the human resources department plays a critical role in CVRF’s continued strategy to create long-term economic development opportunities that support and sustain more than 9,300 residents within its communities. CVRF is funded by harnessing the Bering Sea fishing rights through Community Development Quotas from twenty Western Alaska villages, making it effectively the largest Alaskan-owned seafood company.
