The images above show just one of many examples of the role that response teams had in bringing Alaska communities back together after the November 2018 Earthquake. The teams’ work is featured in DOT&PF’s caption contest, which has been taking place on the DOT&PF Facebook page since November 10.

From DOT&PF:

“Comment on our contest posts through November 20 and tell us what you think: if roads could talk…what would they say? The top three comments will be shared with the community for voting on November 22.”

The winner will be announced at DOT&PF’s Facebook Live event on November 26 from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

In honor of the anniversary of the November 2018 Earthquake, DOT&PF is hosting this Facebook Live event to celebrate the work of response teams, local agencies, and the Alaska community. It will recognize initial responses that were critical to bringing communities back together, as well as the continued recovery efforts. The Facebook Live event will feature various speakers, a recovery video, and the announcement of the caption contest winner.
