SUMMARY:IAWP 2019 Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Women Police of Alaska (WPA) will be hosting the 2019 International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Annual Training Conference in Anchorage. This will be the third time Anchorage has hosted the IAWP conference\, having hosted it in both 1985 and 1998.The hosting organization for 2019\, the Women Police of Alaska\, was formed in 1997. The WPA has put together an awesome schedule of evening networking events and a companion/retiree program that highlight everything that makes Alaska such a special and coveted travel destination. More than 500 delegates from more than thirty countries are slated to attend.The Mission Statement of the Women Police of Alaska\, which has been an affiliate member of IAWP since inception\, is “to secure proper training\, to inspire the appointment of qualified women\, to encourage the increased use of women in law enforcement\, to provide an atmosphere and means to network and encourage fellowship\, and to promote such services statewide.” In that same spirit\, we enthusiastically promote “Mentoring the Next Generation\,” the theme of the 2019 conference.IAWP 2019 Co-Chairs\, Captain Julie Shank and Detective Michele Logan of the Anchorage Police Department\, as well as the entire city of Anchorage\, one of the most diverse cities in the world\, are prepared to welcome delegates from around the globe to an engaging week of training and networking. The daily programs\, luncheons and training classes will be held in the heart of downtown Anchorage at the world-class Dena’ina Convention Center\, which has been built since the last IAWP conference in Anchorage. There will be an Opening Ceremony and Parade of Nations on Monday\, September 23\, 2019.

During this period\, he recruited nearly $3 billion in new development projects\, helping elevate the resorts to world-class status. \nWhen Roger was asked to re-develop and reposition a popular\, but struggling\, Pacific Ocean destination town in Washington State\, he discovered the depth of his passion for helping communities. His goal was to help the town become a top destination of choice for investment\, for business growth and expansion\, as an outstanding place to live\, and as a premier visitor destination. Roger has assisted more than 2\,000 communities with their downtown development\, place-branding\, tourism\, and marketing efforts\, and he is now one of the most widely recognized and frequently quoted experts in his field—a field that includes every element that makes a city\, town\, province\, county or state a better place to live\, work\, and visit.
