R&M Hires Stacey Frutiger as Environmental Specialist
Stacey Frutiger, EIT, joined R&M CONSULTANTS as an Environmental Specialist in the firm’s Environmental Group. Frutiger will be responsible for environmental compliance tasks, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) impact analyses, regulatory permitting, environmental baseline monitoring, Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments, general contaminated sites work, storm water management, and other environmental services for a variety of civil infrastructure projects.
“Having additional staff support for the Environmental Group and Earth Sciences Department will greatly enhance R&M’s capabilities,” said R&M’s Group Manager of Environmental Kristi McLean. “Stacey’s diverse experience, coupled with her strong technical skills, engineering background, and knowledge of environmental regulations, make her a great asset to the team.”
Frutiger brings five years of environmental consulting experience to R&M, with a broad range of experience in air quality compliance and permitting, water quality monitoring, storm water conveyance design, and soil contamination for both government agencies and private industry. She has also prepared NEPA documents for federally-funded projects in Anchorage and around the state; conducted air dispersion modeling; and prepared permit applicability analyses for private clients in the resource development sector.

“After several years of working in air quality, I decided to join the R&M team to diversify my experience in the environmental and engineering fields,” said Frutiger. “R&M, through its many service lines, offered that opportunity.”
Since joining R&M, Frutiger has supported environmental efforts for the Northeast Trail Connector project in Anchorage, Camp Carroll Environmental Assessment for the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, and the GCI Fiber Optic Project at the Port of Alaska and Alaska Marine Lines. Her involvement has included storm water compliance, Section 106 Consultation, and NEPA document preparation.
Frutiger has a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology and a masters in environmental engineering from the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, camping in the family RV, and traveling to her husband’s home country of Switzerland.
