Alaska Public Media Welcomes Two New Hosts

Alaska Public Media (AKPM) welcomes Dr. Justin Clark and Dr. Jillian Woodruff as the newest additions to the statewide radio program, Line One. Clark and Woodruff join Prentiss Pemberton, LCSW, in using their experience to facilitate conversations on health topics affecting Alaska.

“With the addition of Dr. Woodruff and Dr. Clark as hosts on Line One, we look forward to being able to better address the issues affecting the health and well-being of Alaskans,” said Linda Wei, chief content officer of AKPM.

Woodruff is a board-certified OB/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She currently serves her clients at Modern Gynecology. At Duke University, Woodruff earned dual bachelor of science degrees in psychology, with a neuroscience focus, and Spanish literature. Woodruff received her medical degree from the University of Kentucky, completed an OB/GYN internship at Cornell University/New York Presbyterian Hospital and residency at Beth Israel Medical Center/Mt. Sinai. Woodruff is fluent in three different languages, skills which she has used as a volunteer abroad, including work in Guatemala and Mexico.

Clark is a bariatric surgeon, board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, currently serving as the director of metabolic and bariatric surgery at Providence Hospital. Born and raised in San Diego, Clark earned an undergraduate degree from the University of California at San Diego with a bachelor’s of the arts in history. Clark received a medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago and continued studies at the University of Hawaii, performing a general surgery internship, and secured a top fellowship position at Duke University. From 2012 until 2016, Clark served in the United States Air Force as a Major on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson Hospital, where he was the director of bariatric surgery and assistant director of trauma surgery.

Line One airs each Wednesday at 10 a.m., repeating at 8 p.m., on Alaska Public Media Radio (KAKM 91.1 FM in Anchorage).
