National Crime Victims’ Rights Week

April 19 - April 25

National Crime Victims’ Rights week will take place April 19 –25, 2020. This year’s theme is “Seek Justice | Ensure Victims’ Rights | Inspire Hope which celebrates the progress made by those before us as we look to a future of crime victim services that is even more inclusive, accessible, and trauma-informed. Victims for Justice annually celebrates National Crime Victims’ Rights Week with two main events:

Tree Ceremony: April 20, 2020: This ceremony is a centerpiece event for the awareness week honoring those affected by violent crime. Attendees are invited to tie colored ribbons, signifying ten types of violent crime on branches to represent themselves or others who have been impacted by violent crime. Join us for the Tree Ceremony at Hostetler Park.

Victim Service Awards: April 25, 2020: Help us  ensure every victim has access to services, and help us honor the work that is already being done here in Alaska.

You can participate in the banquet by:

  • Purchasing tickets/tables to the Awards Banquet;
  • Nominate an individual, business, or organization that has made significant contributions to benefit Alaskans affected by violent crime;
  • Or donate in-kind contributions of time, goods, and services.
