2019 MSSEC Holiday Luncheon

In 1982, the late US Sen. Ted Stevens began a tradition of inviting Alaskans to an annual holiday luncheon, to mingle with old and new friends and discuss the workings of Washington, DC. When he left the Senate in 2008, he passed this tradition on to Alaska’s new senior senator, Lisa Murkowski. The Midnight Sun Special Events Committee was formed in 2010 to organize the annual luncheon. A non-profit, non-partisan group, MSSEC is honored to carry on an event that celebrates the holiday season and benefits the needy in Alaska’s communities.

Gift cards for teens or cans of food are encouraged as donations to the luncheon’s nonprofit guest beneficiaries. This year, those two nonprofit organizations are Covenant House Alaska and the Armed Services YMCA.
