SUMMARY:Accountability on Remote Teams
DESCRIPTION:The STRIVE Group \n \n \n \n \n \n Elite military units\, championship pro sports teams\, amazing teams within organizations—what do they all have in common? But this isn’t always easy! Speaking hard truths\, even when we have great intentions\, is sometimes difficult. \nThe STRIVE Group can help! \nPeer accountability in teams is underpinned by three key behaviors: psychological safety and trust\, clarity around roles\, and a willingness to have hard conversations as frequently as needed. The instructor will highlight the science behind the importance of these three ingredients in remote work environments. Broken into easily digestible moments\, this interactive and engaging 90-minute session will help audiences of all types build\, nurture and sustain accountability in remote teams. \nLearning Objectives: \n-Discover how peer accountability is the key to great teams-Identify the three key behaviors that make true accountability a reality-Explore why peer accountability can be harder for some remote teams and easier for others-Learn how to nurture peer accountability on remote teams by focusing on clarity\, understanding\, and timely conversations

SUMMARY:Walk a Mile in Her Shoes
DESCRIPTION:STAR Alaska \n \n \n \n \n \n There is an old saying: “You can’t understand another person’s experience until you’ve walked a mile in their shoes.” To get people listening\, learning\, and talking\, Walk a Mile in Her Shoes education events organize around men literally walking one mile in women’s high-heeled shoes. \nIt’s not easy walking in these shoes\, but it’s an experience around which a lot of education\, self-reflection\, and change happens. It’s impressive to see such a visually stunning public statement of listening\, learning\, allyship\, and commitment. It’s an engaging event that gets the community talking about sex and gender biases\, gender identity\, gender relations\, and men’s sexualized violence. \nThis will be STAR’s 9th Annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event. Each year we raise funds to provide services for people in our community\, as well as prevention and education in schools\, workplaces\, and community groups. \nThis year\, the Walk is going to be held outdoors at the Cuddy Family Midtown Park\, and the one-mile course will be three laps on the paved path around the pond at the park. Together\, alongside our participants and supporters\, can make the 2021 Walk the most successful one yet!
