DESCRIPTION:Seismological Society of America  \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Kicking off with a 5.5-hour field seminar cruising the waters of Prince William Sound\, learning about tectonics\, geology\, cryo-seismology\, tsunamis\, landslides\, and current instrumentation and research efforts in the region\, the Seismological Society of America annual meeting is packed with information. A second field trip will take attendees from a GPS station in Palmer to an active\, multi-instrument seismic station in Glacier View. Experts will explain key components of each station\, along with the instruments and components that are unique to Alaska. \nRegistration is required and includes access to technical sessions\, the exhibit hall\, the awards luncheon\, daily refreshment breaks\, and selected receptions. Field trips and workshops are available at an additional cost. Special pricing is available for students and early-career members. Non-members registering will receive a year of complimentary membership. The weeklong event will include a wide range of engaging lectures\, poster presentations\, technical sessions\, networking events\, special interest group meetings\, and more.
