DESCRIPTION:Ilhar Leichonak | Canva.com \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				This course is designed to provide you with tools to teach about energy in Alaska through interactive curriculum and hands-on activities\, and introduce advanced topics in energy\, economics\, & careers. Please note that this course is for K-12 educators currently teaching in Alaska. \nDuring this course you will receive: \n\nOne 500-level UA Graduate Credit (may be eligible for lane change & re-certification requirements)\nAlaska Standards-based curriculum with fun\, hands-on activities for K-12 students & access to other free energy education resources\nMaterial supply kits sent in advance for use during the course and in your classroom!\n\nThis is a virtual training that will be held on Zoom. Alaska Resource Education will send out material kits prior to the start of training\, so please provide an accurate shipping address in the registration. \nSchedule: Zoom sessions will be February 23 and 25\, as well as March 2\, and 4 (Tuesday and Thursday) from 5-7 p.m. each day AKST. Self-directed activities and tasks will also be assigned. \nCost: If course is taken for UA credit\, you will be charged $79 from the university (information will be provided to you as to how to register for that).

SUMMARY:UAF Virtual Blue and Gold Celebration
DESCRIPTION:UAF \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host its annual Blue and Gold Celebration with a virtual event on Saturday\, February 27. \nThe annual fundraiser celebrates the UAF community while honoring alumni and faculty. Proceeds from the event will go toward need-based scholarships. \nThe celebration will begin at 6:30 p.m. with an opportunity to visit online and play Nanook trivia. The regular program starts at 7 p.m.\, including recognition of the 2021 recipients of the Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching\, Research and Service Awards\, and the UAF Alumni Association awards. \nTickets to the event are $125. The first 500 registrants before February 14 will receive a “celebration box\,” which will include a gift bag with items from sponsors\, champagne glasses\, truffles\, masquerade masks and more.
