Communications & Technology

Alaskans have used ingenuity to thrive in a diverse and often harsh environment for thousands of years, and that tradition continues today with technology. Alaska is a "wired" place with relatively high level of internet usage per capita, a strong Alaska based telecommunications industry familiar with the challenges of a geographically dispersed population, and an increasingly tech savvy population in both metropolitan and rural areas.

The market is well served by a mix of Alaskan telecommunication firms, global technology firms that have opened Alaskan offices to serve the local market, and a diverse group of locally owned small businesses that specialize in specific products or services related to telecommunications and information technology. Often, these companies partner to bring new capabilities and products to our market with the help of local expertise. The Alaskan market continues to grow as organizations continue to adopt technology and look for further opportunity to raise productivity and the bottom line.
