Registration for NSAA’s popular Ski Train and Junior Nordic programs open Oct. 1
Saturday, October 1, marks the official start to the Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage’s season. That means the opening of registration for many of NSAA’s popular community programs. Two specific programs, Junior Nordic and Ski Train, will fill up and sell out fast.
Each season, the beloved NSAA Junior Nordic teaches hundreds of Anchorage-area kids to ski while instilling healthy, active living and a love for trails and outdoors. To ensure a great coach-to-skier ratio, Junior Nordic spots are limited and fill up quickly. The first of two eight-week sessions starts November 14 and is offered at three locations: Kincaid, Hillside and Russian Jack parks. Session prices are $180. Learn more and register your young skiers at www.anchoragenordicski.com/junior-nordic.
Tickets to the NSAA’s always fun Ski Train are also available on Oct 1. Hundreds will journey to untouched territories of Curry on March 11, 2017. Ski Train features a 200mile ride aboard the Alaska Railroad and is fun for all ages and skiing/snowshoeing skill levels. There’s also plenty of entertainment, including music, incredible scenery, prize drawings, great food and outdoor fun. NSAA Ski Train sells out annually; tickets sell for $140 each and can be purchased at www.anchoragenordicski.com/ski_train_details.htm.
For 52 years, NSAA has sustained trails and provided Nordic skiing programs that encourage healthy activities and lifestyles for all Alaskans.
