Anchorage, AK – The Nordic Skiing Association of Anchorage (NSAA) will host its Season Kickoff, Ski Swap and Annual Celebration on Saturday, November 5, at Kincaid Park. The events are free, open to the public and an excellent way to learn about NSAA, its extensive year-round trail work around Southcentral Alaska, its programs such as biathlon, ski jumping, backcountry tours, racing and more, and the benefits of NSAA membership.
The event kicks off with the Ski Swap, the best place in Anchorage to sell and buy new and used winter time gear. Concurrently, the Winter Activities Expo features booths from NSAA programs and Anchorage-area ski clubs and other outdoor organizations like Alaska Speedskating Club, APU Nordic Ski Team, and more.
The Annual Celebration includes a potluck meal (attendees are encouraged but not required to bring sides or sweets), a silent auction packed with cool and unique offerings, great door prizes from local vendors, NSAA program presentations and an opportunity for friends to mingle.
Schedule of events: Ski Swap sales: 4-5:30 p.m. (Kincaid Park bunker) Winter Activities Expo: 4-5:30 p.m. (Kincaid Park chalet) Celebration Dinner and Annual Meeting: 5:30 p.m. (Kincaid Park chalet)
