Fairbanks Airport Police & Fire to Conduct Live-Fire Training
(FAIRBANKS, Alaska) - The Fairbanks International Airport Fire Department is conducting live-fire training today, Friday, January 27th in accordance with FAA requirements under FAR 139.319 and State of Alaska Firefighter training requirements.
The live-fire training will begin at approximately 10 a.m. Large columns of black smoke may be observed rising from the fire training area on the south side of the airport. Area emergency services agencies will be notified prior to commencing the training and upon training cessation.
The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities oversees 249 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of the department is to Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.
