Explore Fairbanks Hosts 10th Annual Interior Tourism Conference


Fairbanks, Alaska (AK) – Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Interior Tourism Conference that will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center. Explore Fairbanks will host this community event which covers a wide variety of topics related to the visitor industry including State of the Industry update; Working with the China Market; and Expedia, Inc.: Alaska & the Age of Online Travel Agents. Registration is open to the public online through Monday, January 23 at www.explorefairbanks.com/itc.


New in 2017, Explore Fairbanks and 1st Alaska Tours will host the Tourism Works for Alaska Job Fair. This job fair is open to the public from 3:45pm-6:30pm in the Minto Room at the Westmark Fairbanks Hotel and Conference Center. Meet with hiring managers, find out about different kinds of jobs in tourism, bring a resume or fill out an application onsite. Interested job seekers are encouraged to attend and learn about fun and challenging summer and winter jobs! Free customer service classes will be provided throughout the event.


This year’s keynote speaker is Galen Emanuele. His presentation during lunch, “Creating a "Yes, And" Culture of High-Level Performance & Engagement,” teaches organizations and teams how to apply the improv concept of "Yes, And" to strengthen communication, heighten leadership and create a team culture. Galen's compelling content will have attendees laughing and learning as they enjoy this unforgettable experience and gain powerful skills to permanently transform the way they do business. Galen is an expert in human behavior with more than 18 years in sales, marketing and business leadership. He is also a world-class improviser, having performed and taught improv for over 12 years including touring with improv legend Ryan Stiles and the cast from Whose Line Is It Anyway?


Registration options include full conference $75; lunch with keynote address $25; and student registration $20 (must have current student ID). Tradeshow tables available for business-to-business networking throughout the day are also available for purchase. The cost is $20 and the tables can be reserved while registering for the conference.
