Construction Zone Speed Enforcement 2017
Its summer time, and that only means one thing, construction season. In an effort to keep the construction crews safe, the APD Traffic Unit will be concentrating their efforts enforcing speed limits in signed construction zones. The fine for speeding in a construction zone is twice the amount of a regular ticket. If you are driving 70 miles per hour in a marked 35 mile per hour zone, that would normally cost $1,050, but if in a construction zone, it will cost $2,100. Driving 20 mph over the speed limit would normally net you a fine of $360; in a construction zone that doubles to $720.
Slow down, keep our road crews safe, and enjoy these sunny non-icy road conditions.
