Glacier Bowl Express, the lift formerly known as Chair 6, opens for incredible skiing December 21, 2016.

December 20, 2016 (Girdwood, AK) – Alyeska Resort will open it’s top chairlift, Glacier Bowl Express for the first time this ski season on Wednesday, December 21. The lift formally known as Chair 6 brings skiers and riders to 2,500 feet above sea level. Terrain off of Glacier Bowl Express will be limited to Mighty Mite over to Chilkoot, an area known as The Pizza Slice. The lift will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and is open to intermediate, advanced and expert skiers and snowboarders. There is currently a snow depth of 32 inches at the top on Glacier Bowl Express.
“Our season pass holders and day ticket users love making laps on Glacier Bowl Express,” said Brian Burnett, Ski Area General Manager. “This lift is takes folks to the top and most people stay on it and mae the most laps on this chair throughout the entire ski season, it really opens up the terrain on the mountain.”
