Alaska Railroad invites beer lovers aboard Fairbanks’ second annual HooDoo Choo Choo

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Alaska Railroad will partner with Fairbanks-based HooDoo Brewing Co. and Lavelle’s Bistro for the second year to offer an Oktoberfest experience aboard the HooDoo Choo Choo. This special event train will depart Saturday, Sept. 26, for a round-trip, scenic journey to Nenana.
The HooDoo Choo Choo offers the exciting atmosphere of a beer festival in a unique, only-in-Alaska setting as passengers travel aboard the legendary Alaska Railroad. HooDoo Brewing Co. will provide a variety of its local specialty brews, and Lavelle’s Bistro will serve delicious hors d’oeuvres.
“Our first HooDoo Choo Choo was a great success, and we’re thrilled to partner with Lavelle’s and HooDoo again to make this an annual tradition,” said Alaska Railroad Director of Guest Services and Passenger Marketing Bruce LaLonde.
The HooDoo Choo Choo departs from the Alaska Railroad’s Fairbanks Depot at 4 p.m., and returns at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $179 per person and include round-trip rail travel to Nenana, light fare and six half-pint beer samples. Additional brews will be available for purchase. Must be 21 or over to attend.
