Alaska Airlines Wins FlightStats On-Time Performance Award for 7th Straight Year
FlightStats Inc., which compiles on-time performance data on millions of flights each year, announced the awards Tuesday. Alaska Airlines has received the prestigious award in its category seven out of the eight times since the Portland-based company launched its on-time performance awards program in 2009. Alaska Airlines ranked No. 1 in on-time performance among major airlines in North America both as a mainline carrier (87.5 percent on-time) and as a network carrier (87 percent), which includes Horizon Air.
“Our industry leading on-time performance over the last seven years has proven that we value our customer’s time and is a direct result of our commitment to continually look for ways to improve and streamline the operation,” said Ben Minicucci, chief operating officer. “It is this level of performance combined with our genuinely caring service from our exceptional employees that led to Alaska Airlines being ranked the highest in airline customer satisfaction among traditional carriers for nine consecutive years by J.D. Power.”
