Penair Delivers Water to St. George Island Due to Water System Failure
ANCHORAGE – PenAir plans to deliver 2,500 pounds of much-needed drinking water to the Pribilof Island community of St. George after the island’s water reservoir collapsed earlier yesterday. The city of St. George is currently without any water for drinking, cleaning, or sanitation purposes. PenAir has a Saab 340 all-cargo aircraft set up to deliver almost 300 gallons of water to the community today. “We are here to support St. George in whatever way we can”, says CEO Danny Seybert. “We have been operating scheduled service to the island since 1977 and understand the needs and challenges of living in remote Alaska. If they need water, we are going to do whatever we can to help them.”
Celebrating 60 plus years of service, PenAir began in 1955 in Bristol Bay, Alaska. Today, PenAir is one of the largest operators of Saab 340 turboprop aircraft in the country.
