About Quintillion: Quintillion, headquartered in Anchorage, Alaska, is the company that will build and operate the Quintillion Subsea Cable System, a fiber optic cable network that will bring access to affordable high-speed Internet to the Arctic for the first time. Privately funded and a private operator, Quintillion will sell capacity on its system on a wholesale basis to telecommunications companies enabling the advent of affordable high-speed Internet access to the Arctic.

About Fran Ulmer: Fran is the Chair of the U.S. Arctic Research Commission, where she has served since being appointed by President Obama in March 2011. From 2007 to 2011, Ms. Ulmer was chancellor of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA). She also served as an elected official for 18 years as the mayor of Juneau, a state representative, and as the Lieutenant Governor of Alaska.
