GCI to open new store in Palmer, invites community to celebrate with free cookout and local giveaways
Anchorage, Alaska – On Friday, June 17, GCI will hold a Grand Opening celebration for their brand new retail store in downtown Palmer. The newest GCI store will be located at 125 W. Evergreen St., Suite 104. To celebrate, GCI is hosting a free, family-friendly grand opening event on Friday, June 17, from noon – 2 p.m.
The grand opening event will feature prizes such as a Yeti Cooler and two $100 gift cards to Three Bears Alaska. All attendees who sign up for new GCI service will automatically be entered for a chance to win tickets to see The Band Perry at the Alaska State Fair on Saturday, Aug. 27 and two State Fair general admission tickets, and the first 30 attendees will receive a gift card to Wasilla’s new Extreme Fun Center.
As part of the celebration, GCI will offer a free BBQ lunch purchased from Three Bears Alaska with hotdogs, chips and beverages for all attendees, and feature a special performance by Alaska’s premier country band, The Ken Peltier Band. To thank the Palmer community for welcoming the new store, GCI will donate $500 to the local non-profit the Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue, which will have rescue dogs at the community event.
“As an Alaska company, we understand the importance of having retail stores in locations that are the most convenient for our customers, and our new Palmer store will make it easy for people in that community to utilize our services,” said GCI Senior Vice President and General Manager of Consumer Services Paul Landes. “We hope everyone will come kick off solstice weekend with us as we celebrate the new Palmer store with this fun, free event.”
The new Palmer store opens after a number of enhanced GCI services recently became available in the Matanuska Valley, including 1 GIG red Internet service and expanded 4G LTE coverage. More information about GCI and its services can be found at http://www.gci.com.
