GCI Hires Jim Steele as Director of GCI Government
Steele brings more than 25 years of technology experience to GCI’s government team

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – GCI, Alaska’s largest communications and technology company, announced today that Jim Steele has been hired as director of GCI Government, within GCI’s Government, Healthcare & Education team.
In his new role, Steele will be responsible for the GCI Government program and will lead business development, provide strategic management, and generate new revenues sources.

Steele joins the GCI team with over 25 years of technology experience in a number of IT leadership roles in the state, most recently as the Deputy CIO with the State of Alaska.
For more than 35 years, GCI has helped federal, state, and local agencies achieve their missions by providing technology and communications solutions that range from statewide microwave networks to phone systems in town halls. GCI has invested more than $3 billion in its Alaska statewide network, and continues to provide solutions and services on both a contractual and wholesale basis.
