About Larry Persily: Prior joining the Kenai Peninsula Borough government, Persily served as the Federal Coordinator for Alaska Gas Line Projects from 2010 to 2015. Persily worked for more than a decade on Alaska oil and gas issues for three governors and the state legislature. He started at the Alaska Department of Revenue in 1997, serving as deputy commissioner from 1999 to 2003, and later worked in the governor's Washington DC office on oil and gas, tax and transportation issues. He served as a legislative aide in 2009-2010, working on federal economic stimulus funding, oil and gas issues and natural gas storage legislation.

Before joining government, Persily worked as a journalist in Alaska for more than 20 years. He also has worked as an investigator for the state ombudsman office, as a budget and tax aide for the Municipality of Anchorage, and as a writer and editor on several fiscal policy and oil and gas research projects in the state.
