Teck Announces New General Manager at Red Dog Operations

ANCHORAGE—Teck announced the appointment of Leslie (Les) Yesnik as General Manager for Red Dog Operations in Northwest Alaska.

Mr. Yesnik brings to the role more than 25 years of experience in mining, as well as in maintenance, milling, mine operations and business improvement. He most recently held the position of General Manager for Cameco’s McArthur River and Key Lake operations in Saskatchewan, Canada.

“I am pleased to welcome Les to Teck,” said Shehzad Bharmal, Vice President, North America Operations, Base Metals, Teck. “His extensive experience across all facets of mining make him ideally suited to lead the world-class operation at Red Dog.”

Mr. Yesnik holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.

Teck would also like to thank John Egan for his contributions to Red Dog Operations as Interim General Manager, a role he has held since January 2018. Mr. Egan will resume his role as Assistant General Manager as he transitions to retirement after a very successful 41-year career with Teck.
