PLP asked former Defense Secretary and U.S. Senator William Cohen to conduct an independent review of the EPA’s actions regarding Pebble. His review was published and released today in Washington, D.C. His findings raise serious questions about EPA’s actions.
The report raises serious concerns as to whether EPA orchestrated the process to reach a predetermined outcome; calls for Congressional Oversight Committees to delve further into the issues raised; calls for a regulatory and NEPA review of the project as the fairest and most appropriate way to evaluate the project; and says the EPA’s actions to date have not been fair to all project stakeholders.
