Writer’s Conference Draws National Agents and Local Talent
At Crowne Plaza in September
Anchorage, Alaska - On September 19 & 20, 2015, the Alaska Writers Guild, in conjunction with the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators, will draw national editors, agents, and publishers, as well as local bestselling authors to this year’s annual conference at the Crowne Plaza in September.
Writers of historical romance to young adult science fiction will find something for their genre in the multiple breakout sessions and workshops scheduled over the two-day conference. Whether authors are struggling with an existing manuscript, looking to land an agent, or attempting to navigate the realm of digital publishing, this conference brings industry professionals right to their own Alaskan backyard. Plus authors and illustrators of children’s literature, from picture books to young adult, will have the option of signing up for a special Saturday-only “KidLit Track” in conjunction with the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
This year’s speakers include Mark Coker, founder of Smashwords.com; Laurie McLean, agent and founder of Fuse Literary Agency; Gary Luke, editor for Seattle’s Sasquatch Books; local author and news celebrity Tracy Sinclare; bestselling authors Steven James, Marc Cameron, Jolene Perry, Boone Brux, and many more!
