'Best place in Anchorage to watch float planes'

Published:

ANCHORAGE (April 28, 2016) – The Lakefront Anchorage Hotel, home of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and the only hotel in Anchorage on Lake Hood and Lake Spenard announces the reopening of the Deck at Lake Hood at 5:00 pm Friday April 29th.

"The Deck at Lake Hood is absolutely the best place in Anchorage to sit and watch the float planes come and go while enjoying great seafood and cold Alaskan Amber,” said Carol Fraser, general manager of The Lakefront Anchorage. “In the summer a float plane lands or takes off every five minutes. It’s an incredible show – one that tourists and locals never get tired of watching. This weekend the Alaska Airmen’s Association will be having an airshow over Lake Hood – The Deck will be the best place to watch these amazing aircraft.”

The re-opening of the seasonal restaurant is at 5:00 pm Friday April 29th. The band, I like Robots will be performing from 5:00 – 8:00. Normal hours of operation begin Saturday April 30th from 11 am to 11 pm – based on weather. Parking is free!
