Smashburger Announces the Grand Opening of First Alaska Location

Anchorage Residents Can Savor the ‘Better Burger’ on 104th Ave. & C St.


ANCHORAGE, AKSmashburger, the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” restaurant, will open its first Alaska location in South Anchorage at 317 W. 104th Ave. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. The restaurant will open at 10:00 AM. 


Mark and Sandi Larson along with operating partner Gretchen Kenney, proprietors of Alaska SB, LLC are proud to open the first of three Smashburgers in Alaska.  When Mark and Sandi discovered Smashburger in Phoenix, they never dreamed that within six months they would be discussing this as a new business adventure.  Years of successful businesses for the Larson’s along with Kenney’s experience of managing in restaurants and hotels, the trio is excited to bring this fresh new experience to Anchorage.

The 2,200 square-foot South Anchorage Smashburger, which has dining room seating for 57 guests and patio seating for 24, will be the first location to open in Alaska. Smashburger only uses 100-percent—fresh, never frozen, all-natural Certified Angus Beef that is smashed on a 400-degree flat grill to sear in the juicy flavor. To further the “better burger” experience, the delicious burgers are served on toasted artisan buns and topped with a selection of the freshest produce, real cheeses, and highest-quality condiments.


Smashburger has over 340 restaurant locations across the United States and is more than just burgers. Customers can also enjoy a selection of tender marinated grilled or crispy chicken sandwiches and fresh-tossed signature salads, along with a variety of irresistible sides including rosemary and garlic-seasoned Smashfries, Haystack Onions, and Veggie Frites (flash-fried and seasoned carrot sticks and green beans). The restaurant will also serve a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages ranging from handspun shakes, root beer floats in frosted mugs and beer, including local brews from Alaskan Brewing Company.
