He also draws on 30 years of conducting and researching tour material. “There is a lot you can say about Juneau. I had to condense it down to the information I’ve learned from tours is the most distinct, interesting, and relevant to people.” The book contains over 100 images from Juneau’s history and from Johansen’s own collection. He covers all the regions of Juneau that are familiar with locals and provides insights that guide the reader on a discovery of Juneau. The book is carefully laid out and each page spread is “handcrafted” and unique. “It a tour in a book” says Johansen. It is the first book published in this century specifically about Juneau, Alaska.
