Alaskans Share Business Savvy in Season 2: Where To Startup
Kicks off on GCI Channel 907 Monday, October 17
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Anchorage Economic Development Corporation recently released 10 new videos in its Where to Startup series. Sponsored by GCI, the new series features prominent Alaskans sharing business advice, tactics and life lessons for entrepreneurs looking to start a business in the Last Frontier.
The do-it-yourself styled videos cover topics from building websites to conducting market research and online marketing to data security, through personal stories of business leaders working in industries as diverse as Alaska’s cultures and geography. The videos focus on aspects of innovation in both urban and rural areas and feature Alaskans such as world-renowned Alaska Native artist Perry Eaton, NANA Development Corporation President Helvi Sandvik and ArXotica entrepreneur Cika Sparck, who have each found success in their endeavors.
“Alaskans are known for their innovation and ingenuity, so it’s no surprise that we have a strong and growing entrepreneur community,” said Peter Pounds, senior vice president and chief financial officer at GCI. “GCI supports this project because we believe it is important to help Alaska entrepreneurs to share their stories so that others can learn form their experiences, grow their businesses and ensure the Alaska economy continues to thrive.”
“The series provides rare insight from some of Alaska’s most influential business leaders,” said AEDC President and CEO Bill Popp. “Our goal is to make it widely available to all Alaskans and inspire and encourage future innovation and economic growth across the state. There are no limits to Alaskans’ innovative abilities.”
The series premieres on GCI’s Channel 907 on Monday, Oct. 17 at 5:30 p.m. Binge-watch the full series at AEDCweb.com.
